Camp U & I Day-1

Today was the first day of "Camp U & I"! Finally! I can't wait to make new friends and have some fun!!! The turn-out wasn't bad at all. I can't remember but around 190-200 people turned up for the camp! Sweet! It kicked off with the usual ice-breaking session when everyone start getting to know one another. Most of the Student Leaders (SLs) from Cypher Club, (me and my usual gang of pals, yeah!) played games with the campers and started to get along and bond with each other very fast but compared to the other SLs from other clubs, they got off kinda slow and some of them just didn't bother so it makes me wonder how they can even BE SLs... That would just make the campers bored when you don't interact with them... Anyways, later on, we had this mini Amazing Race called "The Quest" in Singapore whereby the teams had to search for not clues... but FOOD!!! They will be thrown into an area and are to find food around the area which names link to one another without taking public transport.

Example: First food is Mee Soto, it ends with "to", so the next food you need to hunt for must start with "to".

Simple right! I was one of the Gamemaster who was assigned to a team to take care of throughout The Quest. The team I was assigned to was all down and bored when I arrived... The SL isn't doing his job obviously, he was a good SL but just wasn't good enough to bring up the mood of his team. I can't blame him since it might have been his first time or he might just be doing this for the points he'll earn for the point graduation criteria in RP (which I cleared wayyy long ago unlike some losers!) after he completes the camp, so I had to step in and make fiends with each and every one of them just like I did in Cypher Camp a few months back when I was a SL cause the fun and happiness we have together will become happy memories and you won't feel that coming to the camp was a waste. The team was just shy but really opened up to me later on after I chat, joke and played games with them (Jian Yuan, Lay Teng, Matthew, Yong Jia, Shaun, Zhu Yi & Nick) throughout the entire journey in the bus to their designated area for The Quest.

My team was cracking their brains off to link the words when we arrived to our area which was Ayer Rajah Community Centre which is located at Pandan Gardens. This was what they came up with-

Advocado (Do)

Nutella (La)
Laksa (Sa)
Sarsi (Si)

We went from Teban Market to IMM to search for all the food!!! Best part is, they had to finish all the food before proceeding to the next food! Mwahahaha!!! The advocado was hard to find and made us go to IMM and it tasted like liquidised brown sugar (gula melaka in Malay). I can't believe we went Giant to by only ONE SMALL bottle of Nutella chocolate spread... Thankfully there wasn't any queue at all... Or we'd be stuck there! We ate the whole entire bottle clean!!! I sure am not gonna be able to sleep tonight... Anyways, we played a game of Taboo along the way. We ended the race by forming an alliance with another team by heading back to school together, which was our ending point. We sure had LOTS of fun and I sure do hope their SL is abit more enthusiastic towards them like when I was there as I won't be with them anymore for the next game... Pity those campers who came here for fun but ended up thinking it's a waste of time... The day ended off with the whole camp learning 2 cool dance routines, haha!! It was fun!!Anyways, here are some of the people who worked hard and put in effort to organize and put together this camp!!! I'm gonna continue my PP (Professional Profiling) now and get some sleep coz I gotta wake up in 4 hours time!!! Gosh! See ya!!!
