Title : My Birthday

Well as many of you might have remembered or don't remember that today is my birthday, I'm sure you're wondering how it went right... Well, it was alright. Got only 2 presents though... Today was my house's sort of openhouse for some guests to come and pay a visit as part of Hari Raya Celebrations. Firstly in the morning, had badminton training with my uncle and his hotel staffs at Tanjong Pagar CC. I was coaching him for his upcoming inter-hotel tournament this coming Tuesday, 30 October 2007 where a handful of hotels will pit their best badminton players up for a challenge. My uncle works in M Hotel Singapore by the ways... The prize? Hell would I know. Bring glory in the name of their hotel I guess... Haha. Anyways, thought him a few stuff and soon saw him beating the crap out of his other colleagues. Most of them had to take a breather frequently as you know these old-timers don't work out that often. As for me? Was quite bored cause there wasn't much of a challenge... Beaten all of his colleagues and him flat... Even went and thrashed without mercy his boss 15-6... Okay, his second-boss in-charge cause his first big boss whom he says is a better player, couldn't make it for the training... Anyways, it's been a long time since I enjoyed sweat this much and boy do I miss competitive vigorous sports...

Went home, showered and took a short nap cause was damn shag. Today was quite an 'international' visit in my house as my bro's friend from Japan visited, my dad brought home working partners from Indonesia, Java and Burma while I called over my 2 ex-secondary school Indonesian friends who were studying here in Singapore for a visit. Not to mention some cousins of mine dropping by too that day. There's the picture of me and my 2 ex-secondary school Indonesian friends on that day. My mum's in the background... The left one is studying in St. Andrew's Junior College (SAJC), the middle one is studying in Innova Junior College (IJC) and the right one is... well... me proudly studying in Republic Polytechnic (RP). Had cake brought by I'm not sure whom later on for dessert. It was an ice-cream cake from Swensens, the same old cake I have for my Birthday almost every year nowadays... Wonder why... Anyways, my birthday will come to an end when the clock strike midnight and I'm still up now blogging. Haha.. Must have nothing better to do I guess. Good nytex to all. =)

Title : 8 Ball Pool Competition

This is it! Today was the day! No backing out now! Not that I will anyways! It thrills me just thinking of beating the crap out of players. I took part in an 8 Ball Pool Competition individual category held today. It was held at a rather hard to access area, at Tanjong Pagar Road, just beside Fairfield Methodist Church, Cushion & Cue Pool Bar which is on the second floor, right above Ya Kun Kaya Toast Coffee House. The cues and balls there were of great quality and condition. The hardest first-turn breaking up of the balls and be sure that the white ball will fly out of the table. I didn't check the pricing for normal days though. There were 32 competitors, so it was a knock-out session. By the way, for those who do not know, competition tables are 9-feet tables. It was a race to 3 games, meaning the first player to win 3 games over the opponent wins and qualifies to move on in the competition. The competition was supposed to start at 10am but started at 10.30am instead cause the owner came in to open up the pool bar at that time. (Psst, she's hot too. =X) Anyways, we held warm-up sessions and I played with this malay guy. It was an easy-win although he was not bad himself though.

Soon the games commenced and my first opponent was this year 3 guy, Matthew Quek and we tossed a coin to see who breaks the balls first, guess what? It was me. Just as I was about to break the balls up, I glanced at him and he was putting the final touches in fixing his personal cue stick... Yes... A personal cue!!! Damn, I wanna own one for a long time but knows that my parents won't approve of it. Anyways, it was a nice cue, anyways, that also give me a hint of his skills and what he was capable of, so I got serious right from the beginning pocketting a ball from my break and 3 more balls before I ended up in a corner and didn't get a good angle and a clear shot, so it was his turn... One by one... the balls went in... You probably know how good he is by now. It was irritating however, I got more happier, awake and psyched up!!! It wouldn't be interesting if he wasn't good!! Soon, he too was driven into a corner and it became my turn, the only balls left other than the black eight ball were my solid orange and his striped red which were at the corner, nearly touching the side of the table and clumped together touching each other just right, now i'm in a fix... However, after thinking long and hard, I calculated the angle... Aim... And... It went in!! Even better, I positioned my ball just right, ending it's roll in a straight position with the black eight-ball and a hole just straight ahead!!

Think I've won??? No... Much to my dismay, I committed a foul and the turn was given to him... I asked why and he said I didn't announce, I thought he knew that that was the only ball left on the table for me to hit and so I didn't have to tell him that I was gonna hit that ball. That he knows however, my mistake was... I didn't announce which hole I was gonna pocket it in as the shot I made was a very difficult shot and it could have ended up in any hole however, I swear I already calculated and aimed for that hole and I was successful, but I knew he wouldn't believe me if I said that was the hole I aimed for so I just accepted it as my fault and didn't announce the hole I wanted it to end up in. So he got in the remaining balls that turn and I lost the first game.

We played another 2 games and it was exactly the same as the first game whereby it was a very close game with both players always clearing the table of their balls (I usually clear mine first and he'll catch up later on) and leaving only the black eight ball ending up in a duel for both players of who will pocket it first. He got them in before I could... So the final score was 3 games to 0. (3-0) He won 3 games first and went on in the competition. He better not lose to anyone else after beating me and true enough, he won the competition's Bronze. Congratz to him, I mean I'm good, but he's better. Later on after matches as there were free tables, so we could use them and play as much as we want to as RP booked the entire place from 10am-5pm. Hence, I played friendly matches with several other competitors and beat them flat-down. The rest of the competitors except for 2 or 3 (who also had sweet personal cues!) were not much of a challenge... If only Matthew wasn't my first opponent, I could have met him in the finals... Nah!!! Who am I kidding!! I'd rather lose to him than any other player... Especially those who won by luck although they're lousy! Trust me, there were a handful in the competition. Anyways, to all of you, invite me for a game of pool anytime!!! I'll definitely not back down from a challenge!! Meet ya all at the tables!!!
