The Number 4

Ever seen the movie The Number 23 where everything in his Jim Carey's life ended up having something to do with the number 23? Today was a day in my life that revolved around the number 4. Do any of you watch Sesame Street during your childhood? I sound like one of those "And the number of the day is 4!" commercials in the series. Haha!! Anyways back to topic, it all started when I came to class and saw only 4 teams instead of the usual 5. My team was the fifth team that was supposed to be a team of 4 but was dispersed into the other 4 teams as some students were absent and so I had to join up with another 4 team members of a different group. Later on, for my slide presentation as my team were useless and didn't do anything and left all the work up to me(i have to persevere this team for the remaining 4 weeks of this semester), being so busy entering data into the programme to complete the day's assignment that I had no time to even start making one. So, I rushed the remaining 4 minutes to presentation time to make a powerpoint from nothing into something and guess what, I ended up with a total of only 4 slides.

When class ended, I wanted to get a quick-bite before my test starting in half an hour, so I went to get a waffle and the whole class wanted one each as well, I started taking orders and went to block W4 food-court and got 12 waffles!! They were packed in 3 bags with... You guessed it, 4 waffles in each. (12 divide by 3 is 4!) The total price was $14.20!! And the exact time my order was done and the purchase was made?? 4.00pm exactly as I kept on looking at my watch just in case I'll be late for my test!! As I was gonna start my test, I noticed today's date, 21.07.2008, add all the digits together (2+1+0+7+2+0+0+8=20) and you get 20, a multiple of 4! As test ended and everyone left the class one by one, I was left with another 4 friends and we left class together. Went to the library later on after school for a friendly game of dOtA with my friends as I was invited, we played in one of those sound-proof solitary rooms and as I entered the room, I saw 4 of my friends there. As soon as 3 others arrived, we played 4 Versus 3, a handicapped match whereby which team was I assigned to? Indeed it was the team consisting of... 4 people. Just so if you wanted to know, of course my team won, it was really a thrashing actually. Haha!!

Anyways, left at 8.00pm (8 is a multiple of 4!) with 4 of my other friends. While the 4 of them went to eat at the coffee-shop across my school, I went home alone and just when I thought my journey of 4 had came to an end, I crossed a zebra crossing with 4 other Indians and only a minute later while crossing, 4 women riding bikes passed by me. I was thinking could it be a coincidence but what if next I see 4 really sexy babes along the way? That would really be cool! Did it happen??? Unfortunately, no! Heeheehee!!! I took the train home and yes... where I live is 4 stops away from my school. And here I am blogging about this in my home consisting 2 "4"s on my door number and on the 4th storey of my block.

Title : Devil May Cry 4

Devil May Cry 4 for PC version is out!!! I got it the moment I saw it... Urm... Somewhere... Haha!! It's like one of the coolest game I've ever played!! Made for the PS3 originally, with its high-definition graphics, this game should be played only with computers that have built-in high-end graphic-cards with directX 10 and no more directX9, it is like so last generation now! Been a long time a long time since I did a game review of a game that's worth mentioning... Err, I mean playing! I give this game a 4.5 out of 5, yes you heard me right, why you ask? That's because of the fast and action-packed gameplay with solid graphics and moves. Nice environments and possibly the best Devil May Cry out of the whole series.

Well, I know you're probably wondering why I'm blogging right now at 5am in the morning on a weekend. Well, to tell you the truth, I've been up all night trying to figure out a way to play the game!! Why? Not because I don't know how to play the game but after the game loads up, I'll always end up with a blue screen and I am dying to play this game no matter what it takes!! I always end up with a blue-screen or better known in RP as the BSOD (Blue-Screen-Of-Death) with a nvd4_disp.dll error. It's an infinite-loop error for those that study coding in IT and understand what I'm talking about. Go Google it like I did to only end up in misery as it was actually a graphic-card-related error with no cure found so far. Since I'm in RP where we are taught through PBL (Problem-Based-Learning), I researched even deeper to find a cure on my own. Some say to re-install the graphic-card and its drivers, alternatively, I could get a better graphic card for my laptop but that would cost cash which I don't have currently, haha!!

After 3 hours, I decided to try each method, re-installed and updated my my graphic card, tweaked, modified and experimented with my graphic card settings a little here and there and in the end, all I had to do was actually reduced the screen resolution and play the game in a 640 x 360 window which is like 1/4 of your full-screen but what the heck, I got to play it smoothly with NO blue-screens!! Amazing!! If I did play it in full-screen mode, I'd be playing a game in slow motion like those slow motion scenes in the movie Matrix. chuckles* Anyways, glad I can play it and I have to say with all settings at low, the graphics and gameplay is still really cool!! SO for those whose PCs are not powerful enough to run this game, do what I did. Hey, at least you got to play the game! Be thankful!!! ^^

Title : Motorcycle Accident

Motor-Cyclist Flung Half-Way Across Zebra-Crossing

Now, you're probably wondering why I'm blogging at this time of the morning right? Nearly 4am and this guy's still awake blogging, what the hell is he thinking!? Does e even have a life!? Well, I'm just blogging cause I'm still wide awake and from my room's window, you can see a road with a 3-way junction and guess what? An accident has just occurred involving a motorist. I was listening to some loud music with my headphones on when I heard a loud crash sound, surely it wasn't the sound of my music and it was a familiar sound such as an accident and surely enough my instincts were true. By the time I got to my window and saw what happened, I saw a motorcycle laid down beside a curb right before a traffic light, you know, the curb separating between going straight or turning left, and I saw the motorist half-way across the zebra crossing. Imagine banging into the curb and being flung half-way across a zebra crossing as if you were flying. Ouch! This is a lesson to never drive/cycle at night and/or when you're sleepy! Anyways, 2 other motor-cyclist and a car pulled over to help the guy. He was lying not motionless but laid down screaming in pain. As there was already people there to help, I figured I'd just watch all the action from my room. Don't blame me!! Haha! The ambulance arrived 5-10 minutes later. Hopefully the guy's alright. May god look over him and I wish him a speedy recovery!

Title : Wanted

And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.

Went to watch Wanted with my bro and cousin today. The movie wasn't as I expected. Felt a bit of Star Wars' "I am you father." de ja vu, haha!! The movie might have been better off if it took a serious plot stand, at least in my opinion that is, but I have to say, you'll never get bored of the action scenes. Action scenes that are fresh in a long time since The Matrix. Not to mention getting to see the gorgeously hot Angelina Jolie in action although for once she isn't the main lead actress of a movie. I'll give this movie 4 out of 5 rating for a plot that can well be improved on but make up for their cool action stunts.
