Title : Cypher Camp '08

Cypher Camp '08 was a blast!!! It was really fun while it lasted! My role in the camp? I was one of the Student Leaders to lead a team of enthusiastic year-one freshman campers. First up was bonding! Yes, we definitely have to get well acquainted with one another or we will never come out of our little shells and will be stuck in our own little worlds. Dead or alive, you're gonna be stuck with each other for 3 days, live peacefully with each other or withstand agony and dislike for each other for 3 days before you can go home and cry to your mummy. A camp's supposed to be fun and making lots of new friends and that's what me and my team did. Fun was plentiful to go around and new friends were all around the corner. First day, was knowing one another. My team had a really slow start but picked up the pace quite fast in just a few hours and was very close with one another. The treasure hunt (more like an amazing race actually) around RP (Republic Polytechnic) was extremely fun and was what pulled my team together. At night after dinner, it was Horror Night!! "The Dorm" was screened in the dark Lecture Theatre and one team after another was kidnapped while watching the movie to embark on a ghost trail at the school's sports complex. It sure was scary!! After a final debrief it was soon time for bed.

Day 2 proved to be a little more exciting as the teams embarked on an Amazing Race at SENTOSA!!! My team had loads of fun on the way there in a bus as we joked, chat, crapped the hell out of one another although we did encounter a 1 hour delay in traffic jam but all the more time to have even more fun! Sure enough at the end of the Race, we were very tired but explored Sentosa and got to know how beautiful it is as it's been a long time since we've been there. The most fun part was taking the Luge, a downhill go-kart which could go as fast as the wind for those with an adrenaline rush! We also took the skyline where you can see the breathtaking view of Sentosa as high as the sky can possibly take you. Truly magnificent. As we went back, it was the last night the campers are gonna stay in RP and so we decided to make it a memorable one. After their showers were over, we catered food and set up a buffet dinner for the ever so tired campers who were clad in their secondary school uniforms for the next main event. It was finally CLUBBING time!! The lights were out!! People gathered at the center of the stage from all over and started to show off their moves. We grooved and danced to the funks of the EMP crew and the house DJ. Popular hits and songs were popped in and people were just party animals and danced the night away. When the night is over and the lights were hit back on, all had a satisfying time together and it was time to change and hit the bed... NOT!! Most were still in their partying mood and so we stayed through the night playing games with each other til 3.30am when they finally have to hit the beds as they have a long day tomorrow.

The final day finally arrived and all awoke for breakfast and what lies in store for them next was... well... WET, WET, WET!! Water bombs were thrown all over and we had a Tug-Of-War... IN the swimming pool!! It was great fun and guess what? The finals was between one of the teams and MY team!! Since it was the finals, we were allowed to recruit as many people as we want and what the hell!? I recruited my whole alliance with another 6 teams who were full of muscular hunks!! The result? Of course we won!! Woohoo!! Soon, it was time to wash up and lunch was served. Later on, we had our final cheer competition. Creative cheers were heard from all the teams and we had a great laugh together. The verdict? All teams were great and were rewarded with Ice-Cream as their prize. It was a final farewell and all were released back to their very own lives.

I certainly had a great time both as a Student Leader motivating and bringing my team together as well as a camper doing the same things they did. I too once was a freshman camper and had great fun and am glad that now when it's my turn to lead, i delivered the same results. The camp was fun and I achieved many goals and objectives. ^^

Who knows, I may even have gotten more than expected~
