Title : Monday Chill-Out

To those today who couldn't get their hands on tickets for the Tanks concert, don't be depressed, k. It's just a concert for goodness sake. LoL! I know 4 girls in my class (Shi Mei, Shue Wei, Xue Fang & Zeyda) who queued up for the tickets but were denied even one due to people cutting the queue. Cheer-up!!

Went to chill out and slack at the cafe in the library with Lin Qing, Shue Wei and Zeyda after class. Played a game of pool with Lin Qing, I won of course. Haha. Watched the movie "The Pursuit of Happiness" on my laptop. Ate quite a bit. A slice of New York Cheesecake ($1.20) as an appetizer, followed by a Beef Burger (with/without cheese $3.00) for the main-course and a Caramel Vanilla Frappe ($1.??) to wash it down. The burgers there comes with 2 patties and served with potato chips. Shue Wei ordered a Cookies and Cream Ice Blended, Lin Qing ordered a slice of Oreo Cheesecake, a Beef Burger and a Chocolate Ice Blended while Zeyda ordered a Caramel Ice Blended and a Brownie topped with Vanilla ice-cream. The cafe is the perfect place to chill out after class, plus the food's great, resonable and affordable prices, pool tables and great atmosphere. My number one reccomended spot in RP to hang out and just chill. Went home togther later at 7pm.

Taking a long dreamed-of breather from their stressful jobs and family responsibilities, four friends can’t wait to feel the freedom of the open road. Went out today with my secondary school pals, 7 of us in total. Watched Wild Hogs at Golden Village Plaza Singapura. Man it was hilarious! Hahaha!!! Anyone of you who likes comedies should watch this, if one part doesn't stir you up, the other will. Nevertheless, a fun movie for the family.

Title : Time To Slack, Enjoy & Have Fun

Time to slack, enjoy & have fun! After one and a half weeks of knowing one another, me and Alvin thought that it was time for the class to chill out. So, we discussed about ordering Canadian Pizza for second break-out. Instead of just us, how bout the whole class? 20 people? Order 2 and get 2 free. 4 pizzas it was. Other classes envied us as they pass by and peeped into our classrooms. Chatting with pizzas to munch on...

How much better can the day get? Winning Eleven (a soccer video-game) of course!!! My class isn't typical gamers who plays Counter-Strike or dOtA, but a universal sport called soccer. What's better? How bout plugging in two plug-to-play controllers into the laptop and competing against one another!? Filling the room with chatting and screams and shouts and laughter, you can't miss the brilliant fun atmosphere surrounding us. Wanna know how i faired competing against my classmates???

Title : Customized License Plates

Guess what? By the end of the year, Singaporeans may have the option to make their very own “Customized License Plates”! That’s right! The LTA (Land Transport Authority) is looking into the matter as you read this and is discussing and planning the issue, as well as obtaining the necessary permissions and green light from the government. Rules have to be laid out before anything can proceed. With a maximum of 12 characters, you can make your very own customized license plate on your vehicle, e.g. “mystery inc, ghost rider”.

Title : Republic Polytechnic Orientaion

Today was the third and last day of the Orientation for Republic Polytechnic students. We had a Scavenger hunt event today and the night ended with a bang! Live bands and performances rocked the house! Live bands, rappers, B-Boys!!! Dancing, clubbing, moshing, grinding and headbanging was everywhere!!! It was a really wild and fun night. Gotta turn up for these things in the future again. They're damn fun, especially the parties. The after-parties are even more fun than you can ever imagine!!!

Title : Cypher Camp Day 3

It's the last day, little did we know, time passed by so quickly. As it was the last day, we had the last party. A Wet Party. We played with water hoses, water guns, super-soakers, water bombs and water balloons at the carpark's rooftop which is at level 6. This is the time to let go of your anger on someone you don't like during the camp and none wasted that oppurtunity. Ambushes were assembled and people got as wet as they can be. Later in the afternoon after our showers, there was a cheer competition. My team got second and then it was time for the prize presentation. Most spontaneous team goes to my team! Yeah! Haha! After exchanging e-mails, it was time for farewells and good-byes.

Title : Cypher Camp Day 2

Day 2 started with a blast! From a pitched-black hall to a fully lid room filled with sirens to wake us up. Damn it was bright. Had an Amazing Race event later on around the whole of Singapore sponsored by Uniquely Singapore Had a few ups and downs in the race but my team was very co-operative and active that we got third for the race. Great work guys! Night came and it was time to dim the lights and blast the music! The lights were off and the hall became a dance floor with glowsticks flying everywhere. They were the only source of light as it was total pitch black darkness with flashes of light from the cameras. Clubbing that night was fun but awkward as we were in our sec sch uniforms. Haha! The night was still young and we partied and dance as if there was no tomorrow. Slept like a log that night.

Title : Cypher Camp Day 1

Today was the first day of my camp at RP. As usual everyone says cheers, plays games and ice-breakers. Regardless of the situation, my team will e as silent as can be. Haha. As the day goes by, some interactivity shows up. The guys had no problem and had a great start. The gurls as usual were shy all the way. By the end of the day, we came up with our teeam mascot and a team cheer. Finally, after working so hard together, we're much more open and comfortable to talk to each other. Then, there was a night-walk in a haunted house. Guys were supposedly to go alone and the gurls in pairs but due to the lack of time, teams went in 4s and 6s... No scary atmosphere at all. Had our shower later with extremely cold water. Slept at 1.30am with a freezing temperature of 10 degree celsius. Phew...

Microsoft announced that it will be releasing a new version of the Xbox 360, branded as the Xbox 360 Elite. This new model will include a 120GB hard drive, a high definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port, a high-definition cable, and a premium black finish for the console, wireless controller and Xbox Live headset. The system will also include the composite and component cables included in the previous Xbox 360 packages. The Xbox 360 Elite system will have an estimated retail price of $479.99 and will be available on April 29th in the US and Canada.

"Today's games and entertainment enthusiast has an insatiable appetite for digital high-definition content," said Peter Moore, corporate vice president for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. "Xbox 360 Elite's larger hard drive and premium accessories will allow our community to enjoy all that the next generation of entertainment has to offer."



Current Xbox 360 owners will be able to purchase a stand-alone 120GB detachable hard drive that will be sold separately for an estimated retail price of $179.99. This system will include a transfer cable and software so that players can migrate their existing data over to the new drive.

Matching black accessories will be sold separately, including a black wireless controller for $49.99, a black play and charge kit for $19.99 and a black rechargeable battery for $11.99.

Title : Nyi Roro Kidul

Nyai Loro Kidul or Nyi Roro Kidul or Ratu Laut Selatan ("Queen of the South") and also known as Kangjeng Ratu Kidul is thought to be a Javanese goddess. The identity is of a goddess or Queen of Southern Sea of Java (Indian Ocean or Samudra Kidul) in Javanese and Sundanese mythology. So the name refers to a female divine, even some notices name after a male person.

Nyai Loro Kidul has many different names, which reflect the diverse stories of origin, however for many Javanese it is important that the appelations are used when mentioning her name - never 'just the name'- but always with Nyai, Kangjeng and Gusti (only for the noble) or other honorifics when being referred to. The name of Eyang (grandmother) is heard by people who invoke the Spirit-queen and talk to her. See Invocation.

Nyai Loro Kidul controls the violent waves of the Indian Ocean. Her dwelling-place is in the heart of the Indian Ocean, which is told to be her realm. Sometimes she is referred as one of the spiritual queens or wives of the Sultan of Yogyakarta or corresponding to Merapi-Kraton-South Sea axis in Yogyakarta Sultanate.

It was Panembahan Senopati (1586-1601 AD), founder of the second Mataram Kingdom, and his grandson Sultan Agung (1613-1645 AD) who named the Kanjeng Ratu Kidul as their bride in the Babad Tanah Jawi.

Nyai Loro Kidul is often illustrated as a mermaid. In this image she is referred to Nyai Blorong who has a mermaid tail as well the lower part of the body of a snake. These creatures take your soul for any wish of material matters addressed to them.

One original telling is about Dewi Kadita of the Pajajaran Kingdom, West-Java, who desperately seeks for the south after black magic that had hit her. She jumps into the violent waves of the Indian Ocean where the spirits and demons crowned the girl to the legendary Spirit-queen of the South.

A very complicated story goes about the Ajar Cemara Tunggal/Adhar Tjemara Toenggal on the mountain of Kombang, a male seer who actually was the great-aunt of Joko Susuruh. She told him to go to the east of Java to found a kingdom on the place where a maja-tree just had one fruit; the fruit was bitter (pait) and the kingdom got the name of Majapait. The seer Cemara Tunggal would marry the founder of Majapait and, any descendant in first line, to help in all kind of matters. Though after he (the seer) would have transmigrated into the "spirit-queen of the south" who shall reign over the spirits, demons and all dark creatures. After all it is because of these traditions that the myth about Nyai Loro Kidul got a Sundanese, West-Javanese origin.

Pelabuhan Ratu, a city in West Java, celebrates an annual holiday in her honor on (New years day in the Javanese calendar). The special day which is dedicated to the Nyai Loro Kidul is on April, the 6th. She is also associated with Parangtritis, Pangandaran, Karang Bolong, Ngliyep, Puger, Banyuwangi, all along the south coast of Java.

There is a local belief that wearing a green garment in these areas will anger her and will bring misfortune on the wearer, as green is her sacred colour. The Samudra Beach Hotel keeps room 308 furnished with green colours & reserved for Nyai Loro Kidul. The first president, President Soekarno, of Indonesia was involved with the exact location and the idea for the Samudra Beach Hotel. In front of the room 308 there is the Ketapang tree where Soekarno got his spiritual inspiration. [1]

Legends recount her love for the Sultan Agung of Mataram, which continues to be recounted in the ritualized bedhaya dance by the royal line of Surakarta, and she is honored by the sultans of Yogyakarta. When Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX died on October 3, 1988, the Tempo newsmagazine reported her sighting by palace servants, who were sure she was paying her final tribute to the dead ruler.
