Time : 12:15 PM Title : Dance Floor Had to work today at the Singapore Power building for the finals of the inter-school skit competition. Not a bad day. Had lots of fun and met many new friends. After work, a colleague of mine, whose cousin-in-law was one of the dancers for the group called Fantastic Four, had two extra free tickets for the Dance Floor. So, me and my friend decided to go. Crap! We missed the bus stop we were supposed to alight and had to walk back. LoL! Finally we arrived at the Mediacorp studio and it's smaller than what you see on the television actually. Well, me and my friend were supposed to be at the mosh pit upfront near the stage but we were tired so we decided to have the seating seats instead. Super tired so i better crash for the night! Chiow!

Time : 8:40 AM Title : Jackalope Legend The legend of the jackalope has bred the rise of many outlandish (and largely tongue-in-cheek) claims as to the creature's habits. For example, it is said to be a hybrid of the pygmy-deer and a species of "killer-rabbit". Reportedly, jackalopes are extremely shy unless approached. It has also been said that the jackalope can convincingly imitate any sound, including the human voice. It uses this ability to elude pursuers, chiefly by using phrases such as "There he goes! That way!". It is said that a jackalope may be caught by putting a flask of whiskey out at night. The jackalope will drink its fill of whiskey and its intoxication will make it easier to hunt. The legend also states that the jackalope also bred with a camel to form the jacamelope. It is also legend that the Cherokee Indians would eat these at the end of a vision quest. It has also been said that jackalopes will only breed during electrical storms with hail, explaining its rarity. The jackalope is the product of the mating of a male jackrabbit with a female antelope. History The jackalope legend in the U.S. is attributed by the New York Times to Douglas Herrick (1920–2003) of Douglas, Wyoming, in 1932. Postcards showing jackalopes were also sold in the U.S. in the 1930s. Horned hares abound in European and, particularly, German and Austrian, legends as the Raurackl, Rasselbock and Wolpertinger. These legends were possibly inspired by Shope papilloma virus-infected rabbits with fibrous growths which can resemble horns when they occur on the animal's head. The many illustrations of horned hares shown in scholarly works by European naturalists in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, may have been similarly inspired. While researching, this is clearly one of the most strangest legends I've ever come across.

She was so entranced by him, she forgot her divinely duty of illuminating the night sky. Her twin brother Apollo, seeing Orion swimming in the sea, dared his sister to strike what only appeared to be a spot on the waves. Not knowing it was Orion, Artemis shot an arrow and killed him. Later, when she found out what she did, she placed his body among the stars. The grief she felt explains why the moon looks so sad at night. For most observers Orion is the most impressive constellation of the sky, no doubt. With its large number of bright stars and the distinct group given by the three belt stars it is easy to find in the winter sky (see lines). In mid-january Orion culminates at about 22 h local time. Observers located at the terrestrial equator can see the constellation marching through the zenith; the belt stars are at a declination of about 0 degrees. Orion's position is also close to the galactic equator, you already can see dense star fields in the upper left corner. Orion offers a wealth of interesting and famous objects like the great Orion Nebula (M 42/43) and the Horsehead Nebula (IC 434). The brightest star is Rigel (Beta Orionis), visible in the lower right. Against the convention, that greek letters are given in order of intensity, the second bright star Beteigeuze is named Alpha Orionis (Orions left 'shoulder'). For those who aren't into star constellations, you may not understand this however, from my personal experience, I have seen the Belt of Orion (right beside IC 434) 3-4 times in mid-january 2007. It's the 3 blue stars you see there. They were as if alligned in a single perfect line. Rarely do you get to see these things, glad I saw it. (If you wanna compare the two pictures to find the distinct stars at various similar points on Orion, rotate the star constellation picture upside-down and compare)

In his latest misadventure, Mr Bean--the nearly wordless misfit who seems to be followed by a trail of pratfalls and hijinks--goes on holiday to the French Riviera and becomes ensnared in a European adventure of cinematic proportions. Tired of the dreary, wet London weather, Bean packs up his suitcase and camcorder to head to Cannes for some sun on the beach. Ah...vacation. But his trip doesn't go as smoothly as he had hoped when the bumbling Bean falls face first into a series of mishaps and fortunate coincidences, far-fetched enough to make his own avant-garde film. Wrongly thought to be both kidnapper and acclaimed filmmaker, he has some serious explaining to do after wreaking havoc across the French countryside and arriving at his vacation spot with a Romanian filmmaker's precocious son and an aspiring actress in tow. Will Bean be arrested by the gendarmes or end up winning the Palme d'Or? It's all caught on camera as Atkinson again applies his awkward athleticism to a comedy of errors in Mr Bean’s Holiday. Watched this today at The Grand Cathay at Cathay Cineplex. Planned to watch at Plaza Singapura first but the seats were limited and most of them are sold out. Almost watched TMNT but we preffered to stick to what was originally planned. So we went to watch at The Cathay Cineplex located behind Plaza Singapura. Had to walk a little. A total of 10 of us. Thankfully there were enough seats, 6 in a row seats with 4 separated seats and the right timing. I expected better but, it was hilarious as usual. Him and his dumb antics. I'll give it a 4 out of 5 rating. The thing is, I can't believe I just paid to laugh at someone else. Later on at night, we went to the Esplanade to watch live bands perform. Star-gazing by the river at the Esplanade is beautiful at night. The Esplanade has live bands performing at night for the whole month of March. Took pictures. What is it with these guys and their poses!? Haha. Went for a game of pool later at Marina Square, beat the crap out of them by winning 10 out of the whole 13 games we played. A word of advice for everyone, in any event/activity/dare/sport, don't be overconfident and watch out who you challenge.

Hiromichi Tanaka, one of the main designers of the Nintendo Famicom version, headed the project as both the executive producer and director. His guidance and supervision were needed because the remake was not a mere graphical update as Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II's remakes were, but a total overhaul using the Nintendo DS's 3D capabilities; however, the layout of the dungeons and towns closely matches the original. Along with 3D graphics, a full motion video opening scene has been made for the game, similar to those found in the ports of the 2D Final Fantasy games for the PlayStation. The game also has a mognet system where players can register other players' friend codes, online using WiFi or the local area network, and trade mail, which is essential in unlocking a secret job, quest, and area. Developer Matrix Software handled the programming of the game. Woohoo! I finally got my hands on one of these babies! Searched for 4 months but was sold out in every single store I went. Singapore only had 2000 copies shipped in at that time. Most of the stores sold out their entire stock on the first day of their sales! Now their in stock! A whopping $75 if you buy at Comic Connection. I suggest you buy it somewhere else where it's cheaper. I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy games and the wait was worth it. I give it a full 5 out of 5 rating. The opening scene's movie is breathtaking. Guess I'll be busy playing this game for a while.

Time : 4:53 AM Title : Venus de Milo Long ago in ancient Greek, a talented Greek sculptor, Alexandros of Antioch, used blocks of Parian marble and carved them into a beautiful statue of a goddess called Venus de Milo. Found broken into two parts in the ancient ruins of Milos by peasants in 1820, it was then reassembled but not completely. This figure was identified (although without proof) as being a representation of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of beauty. Its fragmentary state has inspired a number of imaginative reconstructions, but the most convincing probably has the left arm raised and the right in front of the opposite hip. The Venus de Milo is considered a Hellenistic sculpture, the type Classical (as in the expression of the face) situated during the late period of Greek art. Although a left and right arm was lying beside the statue when it was first found, the pieces didn’t seem to fit. Now after enough evidence, those arms are accepted by people that they belong to the statue but experts still could not fit the arms back onto the statue. This being true, the arms of the statue may not necessarily belong to it. This led to the mystery of the goddess’ arms. Many prefer to think that they are still lost. If it were found, what would the completed Venus de Milo look like? The mystery of the arms is the fame and beauty of the statue. Some even claim that it is never the same when viewed from different angles. This is true however as studies have proven that this statue was built to be seen from the right. A unique and magnificent statue indeed.

Time : 4:32 AM Title : Pool Pool, pool and more pool! This has been the game that keeps me alive this past few months. Played again today at Lot 1's K-Pool. Like any seasoned players who always goes there to play, the cues are fine, the tables are nice, they play the same music almost everyday but the ever-common blackout that occurs there is irritating. Today, it happened twice when I was playing with my friend, Ming Jun. Out of the 13 games we played, I lost 9-4. To make things more challenging, we played with lucky-shots considered as fouls. Well, it was a nice game. Bumped into three other friends who later came playing at the table beside us, Adelard, Khaliq and Thiban. The blackout happened twice but when it happened the third time, it was permanent. Games were cancelled and they had to close up. The generator might have short-circuited and blown the fuse. The good news? Everything was free and we didn't had to pay a single dime for the 3 hours we spend playing there. Lucky day perhaps.

In 'The Messengers', a suspense thriller starring Kristen Stewart, Dylan McDermott, Penelope Anne Miller and John Corbett, the Solomon family has left big city life for a secluded farm in North Dakota. Soon after they arrive at their new home, 16 year-old Jess and her 3 year-old brother begin seeing ominous apparitions that no one else can see, and are repeatedly attacked by something from the other side. Now they must try desperately to warn the rest of the family before it's too late. Watched this at VivoCity last Friday with my friends. Front and back, i was surrounded by girls, screaming away before anything even happens! Haha!! Out of 5, I'll give it a 3.5 rating. The next movie reviews I'll do will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Mr Bean's Holiday! Watch out for them!
